Hannah Margaret Lever

Hannah Margaret "Maggie" Lever was born on November 3,1861 in Artemesia Township, Grey County,Ontario.She is the daughter of Roger Lever and Rebecca Holley.

Maggie ran a local dress-making shop and many girls came to her home to apprentice as dressmakers.

On September 27,1887, she married Thomas Alberton Blakely. The marriage was performed in Flesherton and Maggie's brother Jacob Lever was the best man.

Blakely-Lever - At the residence of the bride's parents, Flesherton, on Tuesday,28th inst..by Rev. A Wilson, Mr Thos. A Blakely, of Maxwell to Miss Maggie Lever, of this town. A large number of friends and acquaintances witnessed the interesting ceremony. The bride was very handsomely dressed and of course both bride and groom looked their best.The young couple have the very best wishes of a large circle of friends and The Advance takes this opportunity to throw its old slipper and a few grains of rice after the estimable young people accompanied by the hearty well wishers of the entire staff.

Margaret died in May 1926 and is buried in Flesherton Cemetery (Center row 6 # 175 W)
